My Story

It takes courage and vulnerability to seek out therapy, so I am very happy that you’re here! I have been in the mental health field for more than five years and have experience treating eating disorders and body image issues in adults and adolescents, and in gender diverse populations. I also have experience treating other mental health and mood related concerns including depression, anxiety, and bereavement. I’ve worked in a variety of settings including residential and community mental health, domestic violence shelters, and resource based programs providing services to individuals that have previously been incarcerated.

I believe that therapy is best approached through a person-centered and intersectional lens, looking at the individual experiences and identities that people hold. Therapeutically, I practice primarily from a psychodynamic and feminist framework, as I believe it is important for people to reflect on their lived experiences, while also recognizing the role of inequality on mental health. As a person that resides in a larger body, I practice from a Health at Every Size framework, believing that all bodies are worthy of care and respect. I welcome conversations about weight bias, health, and exploring the inequalities people have experienced because of the size of their body. I also am deeply passionate about providing safe and affirming care to the LGBTQ+ community, as sexuality and gender are important parts of identity and people’s lived experience.

When I’m not doing therapy, I usually am spending time with my husband and goldendoodle, Poppy! I love reading, traveling, painting, going to local coffee shops, and trying new restaurants. I always enjoy learning and am always growing personally and professionally because of my clients. Thank you for being here and reading about me! Hopefully I get to learn about you too.
